An hour south of Hurghada and two hours north of Safaga some of Egypts finest diving has been had here. The reef extends out from the shoreline and there is an old light beacon on top of the reef at its eastern point. As with many Red Sea scuba diving locations the water quality is near perfect and the marine life is abundant and brightly coloured. The dive site's northern wall is preserved well, as it is less dived, and the undamaged and perfect corals here are home to too many species to mention. On the southern part of the reef the wall segments into smaller sections which can be a little disorientating and a compass is a useful toolThere are batfish and often large pufferfish rest on the seafloor as well as lionfish in the small overhangs. Due to the shallow bottom and absence of currents this is a great spot to learn to dive, refresh your skills or just enjoy the magic of the red sea. A site for all scuba diving levels.
